Spring, Spring, Spring

Spring is flying by and all I know to do is hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Casey coached a rec soccer team for the past couple of months.  They just had their end of the year swim party this past Saturday.  He thoroughly enjoyed coaching practices and the games.

Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you to the "Chick Magnets."  They were sponsored by Sanderson Farms (Chickens), hence their name.  Coach Casey loved warming up with the guys.

We've been enjoying fresh flowers...

lighter meals...

Casey has been playing at a couple of local restaurants...

Daniel the percussionist.

We saw Lion King on broadway in New Orleans...

that made for a really fun day-long-date.

Friday we attended a couples wedding shower and I recycled some of our wedding gift wrappings.

On Saturday I helped host a bridal shower and I made a double batch of Pioneer Woman's Mocha Brownies.  They are to-die-for.

Something to note: PW says to chill the brownies after icing so that the icing really has a chance to firm up.  That tip is very important - I didn't chill them long enough and the icing wanted to come right off the brownie when we were trying to cut them.  We ended up putting them in the little muffin cups to contain them.  Therefore, even though they still tasted delicious, the presentation was not as pretty.  They do cut well when they have been chilled properly.

The bride-to-be.

Later that day, we headed downtown the annual Artwalk.  We love our friends.

That's the re-cap, for now.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Easter 2012

"Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing to in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.  Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21

I rejoice in knowing that God lovingly cares for His sheep - He demonstrated this by conquering death, and continues to demonstrate it by leading us and protecting us in all things.
My study Bible notes on these verses refer back to Romans 6:9 - "We know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him."
Hallelujah!  Doesn't that fill you with hope?  It sure does fill me up - to the brim.

We spent the Easter weekend in the Delta with my family - it was lovely.
Hope you all enjoyed the special weekend as well!
