Update

Last Friday Casey woke up without a voice.  He felt miserable all weekend and finally allowed me to take him to the doctor on Sunday afternoon.  Diagnosis: really severe throat infection.  He was given the good ole Z-pack and sent on his way.  He didn't go to work on Monday, so when I got home from class and clinic I made smoothies.

We sat outside, drinking in the warm and pleasant afternoon, as well as our strawberry-banana treats.

I took this picture and...
Casey took this one.

It's now a exactly a week later from him waking up sick (Friday) and he is back at the doctor as I am typing.  I'll keep you posted on the diagnosis.  Right now, our weekend plans include (all depending on how Casey feels of course): some yard work, lunch with friends, a gig Saturday night for Case (hope he can sing), and studying for me.
We are also looking forward to the cold front moving in - stay warm and have a great weekend!

A welcome change

Fall is always a welcome change.

Colors changing and cooler temps.

Long sleeve shirts and hot chocolate.

FALL BREAK, which is what I am enjoying currently - today, tomorrow plus the weekend. A 4 day weekend, woo hoo!

We are weathering our first fall in our new house - it's hard to belive that we moved in smack dab in the middle of summer and now that season is over.

We have learned that when it drops down into the lower 40's at night, our house becomes cold. We broke down and turned on the heat that night -- and slept under a pile of our favorite blankets. Little by little, we'll work on improving the insulation around here.

Here are a few glimpes into our fall thus far.

Chocolate Chip Muffins - I used THIS RECIPE.

Tailgating food - one is missing.  Casey The Culprit was at work here.

Beautiful Saturday to be outside.

My school work takes over the living room sometimes.  Casey kindly helps me study for tests and helps me around the house.

I did mini's too.

And the house chores never end: load the dirty dishes in, take the clean ones out, load the dirty clothes in, take the clean ones out. Repeat.
Normal everywhere.
Lastly,
the squirrels in our backyard crack me up - if I left the door open unattended we would have a multitude of them inside.

Happy Fall Yall!
